"The Place we're longing for" by Masha Stepina Trio (Jazz Artist from Japan)

The talented group, Masha Stepina Trio, and their terrific new album, "The Place We're Longing For," embrace the listener with mellow and mellifluous jazz pieces played on the piano, bass, and drums. "With Every Note, A Step..." by Scot Albertson (Jazz Artist from Connecticut(CT))

Scot Albertson's latest CD, "With Every Note, A Step…," finds the crooner hitting his stride with a smart and well-conceived collection of tunes that blend influences ranging from lounge to theater. Opening his 15–song album with a fine medley incorporating Hammerstein and Kern's "The Song Is You" with "As Long As I'm Singing," while closing with an invigorating, jazz-informed performance of Dan Fogelberg's "Part of the Plan," Albertson oozes confidence and the delight of performing. With a jazzman's knack for the gentle art of swing, covers of Spike Jones' hit, "Pass the Biscuits, Mirandy," Frank Loesser's "I Hear Music," and Eubie Blake's "Memories Of You," sound as joyous - and relevant, as they were decades ago. For fans of the great American songbook, and the type of singing that's meant to stir the soul, Scot Albertson's "With Every Note, A Step…" CD continues a musical journey that's part easy listening and part jazz, but completely terrific.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Claude Werner Quartet with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Thoughts and Recollections "

You will be mesmerized by the stunning and expressive Jazz compositions on the new CD, "Thoughts and Recollections," by the Claude Werner Quartet. Werner, a brilliant tenor saxophonist, performs with rich and emotive sensitivity. Feel his dynamics rise and gently recede on haunting & evocative melodies of pure artistry. Werner's fellow musicians are well-focused and, in their togetherness, reveal a true chemistry as they perform with tight, well-rehearsed precision. Breathing with an airy ambiance of smooth and silky vibes, "Good Ol' Days" invites reflections of memories of times past. The counterpoint of the bass embellishes the mood of "Day Dreaming," as Werner's sax displays a polished and charming tonality. Jazz improvisation is at its best when you hear the delectable song, "Conversations with D," with its smooth and precise dexterity. Relax and enjoy listening to the fabulous, warm and inviting jazz songs on Claude Werner Quartet's fine CD, "Thoughts and Recollections."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Matthew with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Color My Soul "

RadioIndy is pleased to present Matthew with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Color My Soul "

Keyboardist and composer Matthew's 2nd CD, "Color My Soul," continues his Easy Listening / Contemporary Jazz explorations over the course of 10 songs as soothing as they are satisfying. On his new album, Matthew offers up a mix of original piano-led instrumental tunes that hover in the New Age / Adult Contemporary realms, but shakes things up a little with a couple nice vocal tracks ("My Child" and "Letting Go") from a fine r&b-oriented female vocalist, and a sax-led slice of loungiana ("Saxuality") that brings just the right touch of after-hours ambience. "After the Rain," with its very pretty acoustic guitar accompaniment, and the title-track, "Color My Soul," capture the essence of Matthew's composition and performing strengths, delivering lilting and memorable melodies to complement whatever you're doing, or simply to help you relax and enjoy a fine glass of wine with a friend or lover. In all, Matthew's fine "Color My Soul" CD is a beautiful and relaxing musical soundscape for fans of Adult Contemporary and Contemporary Jazz music.

"The Face of My Love" by Ken Greves (Jazz Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

On his new CD, "The Face of My Love," inspired Jazz singer, Ken Greves, exhibits the class and tastefulness that is pure, traditional Jazz. The accompanying band is comprised of light percussion and a very skilled piano, leaving room for the rich and seasoned tone of the vocalist. On the track "Where Have You Been," the singer plays the role of a bit of a smart alec in his delivery as the piano plays with sass in the background, providing an appropriate accompaniment. The classic, "Witchcraft-that Old Black Magic," was wonderfully redone; Greves' delivers a vocal performance as authentic as the original. It's completely upscale and exquisitely done down to the last note. At the close of the album a track titled "Don't Look Back" is sure to have the listener wanting much more from this fine performer. It is a ballad that exemplifies the talent and vocal range of the artist, with wonderful piano accompaniment. If you like small jazz combo vocals, Ken Greves' "The Face of My Love" CD is a must to check out.

"Deep Purple Dreams" by Julian Yeo (Jazz Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

"Deep Purple Dreams," the recently released CD by talented Jazz vocalist Julian Yeo, is a nostalgic throwback to the great era of crooners such as Bing Crosby. Yeo's voice is articulate and delivers a soft and stunning ambiance with spectacular style and grace. His songs are well crafted and the instruments that accompany his voice are crisp and clean. "Close Your Eyes" is a dreamy song with laid back vocals that compliment the charming lyrics. The syncopated rhythms of "Quizas, Quizas, Quizas" and "Too Darn Hot" cascades around the alluring vocal with hypnotic energy. "September Song" displays expressive vocals that swirl around the emotive and thought provoking piano. If you're into Jazz and like the sound of a voice that is smooth and has sentimental style then "Deep Purple Dreams" is an album you will thoroughly enjoy.
