"In the Driver's Seat" by Steve Raybine (Jazz artist from Nebraska(NE))

"In the Driver's Seat," by multi-talented and well-seasoned musician Steve Raybine, is a relaxing album that blends the smooth sounds of jazz with soul, and adds a Latin music element. The CD opens with instrumental tracks that accentuate the artist's raw talent on the vibraphone. Toward the middle, though, the pace picks up and the artist even throws in some toe-tapping funk. The track "You Don't Love Me Anymore" showcases tasteful and classic female vocals that emulate the original soul singers of the '60s. "Sugar" is a track that displays musical mastery. The upscale high-hat beat and melodic organ are both dominated by the artist's acumen on the vibraphone, creating a beautiful song. Overall, jazz is only the base for this album. It is mixed with various other genres of music which gives the listener a great opportunity to sample many different styles and collaborations.
