"I Will Do It" by Patrick Rydman (Jazz Artist from Sweden)

Singer/songwriter Patrick Rydman takes listeners on a journey through the years of classic jazz and delves into the Great American Songbook genre as well. Although he does stick with traditional jazz form, Rydman separates himself from being pinned as just a jazz artist by layering pop voicing over his music on the new album "I Will Do It." One fine example of this is the song "Flying Angel," which could easily be heard on any adult contemporary station today. Sticking to the standards of jazz, Rydman gives us "Walking in Our Sleep" with soft drum beats and complimentary organ progressions. Besides great songwriting, Rydman also has a very smooth and silky voice that echoes the sounds of James Taylor or even Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. If you are looking for a smooth jazz CD that is going to offer more than just another version of "Take the "A" Train," then Rydman's "I Will Do It" is the way to go.
